Knowing how to tackle the complexity of our applications is crucial to leading the successful delivery of our IT projects. While our core systems are built on a low-code development platform, the PHP applications play a big part in creating smarter processes for our government clients. Our focus lies on three fundamental areas of government: tax, social security and permits & licensing.

We are offering the challenging position of PHP Developer.

As a well-rounded PHP developer, you will join our Solutions Development department and work on large and complex client IT projects. Understanding these complexities and working to find the right solution for stability and performance of the application is the basis of your daily focus.

Requirements

Key responsibilities:

  • As a backend expert you work closely with the multidisciplinary team, making sure our applications are performing well, secure and stable.
  • You are responsible for the backend development of the application and have the skillset to meet ambitious deadlines of our projects alone or collaboratively.
  • You participate in the design and architecture of the application.
  • You use your knowledge to perform code reviews and provide feedback on the work of your team members.
  • With your hands-on attitude, you help raise the bar for performance standards.
  • You support junior developers and motivate and mentor your team to further professional growth.
  • You have a Bachelor or Master’s degree in IT, Informatics, Computer Science or similar studies.
  • You have in-depth knowledge of PHP (7) and MySQL and at least 5 years working experience, preferably in an Agile/SCRUM environment.

Requirements:

  • Working experience with (REST) API's, PHPUnit, Linux, memcached, AJAX, and versioning tools (GIT and SVN).
  • You have experience with and expert knowledge of OOP and frameworks such as Symfony or Laravel.
  • As your work will have some overlap with the frontend part, you have a basic understanding of frontend technologies (HTML, CSS and JavaScript).
  • You have an analytical and inquisitive mindset and are passionate about backend development and latest technologies.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English communication and good interpersonal skills.
